It Looks Like Ball Lightning Is A Real Thing After All...And They Got It On Tape

Ball lightning is one of the rarest atmospheric phenomena known to man. Throughout history, there have been stories of researchers and ordinary folk encountering ball-shaped lightning. However, we still don't know how it happens, and despite years of research, scientists have been unable to recreate it in a controlled environment.

New footage from outside of Novosibirsk, Russia, is breathing new life into the ball lightning debate. The video was taken by Roman Tregubov, a graduate of the Novosibirsk State Technical University. This is the first time ball lightning has been captured on film with such clarity.
